Our Social Program
Caminhos Language Centre was founded with a social purpose — to support the former children’s home Casa do Caminho in Xerém.
In the early years (around 2009), all profits from the language school were donated directly to Casa do Caminho. These funds helped provide better care for the children by financing food, staff salaries, and extra educational and recreational activities.
As the school grew, this mission evolved. From 2012 onwards, Caminhos began to focus its social efforts on international exchange and educational programs for underprivileged youth in and around the school.
Over time, this initiative developed into Mais Caminhos, our non-profit educational and social program dedicated to empowering young people from local communities in Rio de Janeiro.
With the help of international volunteers, the language school’s financial and organizational support, and the generosity of our sponsors, more than 1,000 children have already been positively impacted by our work.

What Do We Do?
Today, Mais Caminhos supports around 50 children through free classes in English, math, and social and cognitive skills.
These children visit us twice a week after school, and you can often see them in our building in the evenings — learning, playing, and connecting.
Every winter and summer, we organize a two-week holiday activity program that welcomes around 30 children from the community.
During these weeks, the kids enjoy sports, games, art projects, learning activities, and healthy meals, creating unforgettable memories and friendships.
In addition, we provide scholarships to talented and motivated youth who show exceptional commitment to their studies and their community, helping them build a brighter and more independent future.
