Our Shared Homestay Beach is a unique concept. In some cases, you may share the house with other Caminhos students, as some of our hosts (often older ladies) have multiple rooms available. This creates a mix between a traditional homestay and a shared apartment, ideal for meeting new people while still enjoying the warmth of a family environment.

After booking your course and selecting your preferred accommodation, Caminhos will begin searching for a match based on your profile. We will reserve the apartment for the agreed period. Then, you will receive a confirmation email. This message will include all the important information about your stay. As a result, you can prepare with confidence before you arrive in Rio.

Our meeting point is always at the school. When you stay in one of our apartments, you can easily go home for a quick bite to eat and then return to the school in just half an hour to join a game of beach volleyball or participate in a capoeira class. The closer you are to us, the more fun you’re guaranteed to have!

Some students initially decide to stay on the outskirts because it’s cheaper, but they often realize how much they spend on public transportation commuting to and from our school. Each metro ride costs BRL 7.60, and each bus ride costs BRL 4.70. These costs can add up quickly and may end up costing about the same as staying in the best and safest areas, Ipanema and Copacabana.

Caminhos dedicates time and energy to finding the best options for you. We understand that it is essential for our students to have quality accommodation that offers all the comforts of home, including reliable and fast Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fans, desks, 24-hour security, as well as cooking and washing facilities.
Most accommodations are within a 10-15 minute walk to the school, beach, and public transport, and are located in the safest neighborhoods (Ipanema/Copacabana).
Our prices explained
Caminhos Rentals & Accommodation has established fixed prices with all apartment and homestay owners. We add a commission fee on top of their prices to cover our services.
This is necessary to account for income tax on all payments received, as well as to cover our expenses and the time spent assisting you, and a commission charge on top of their prices for our service.
We do this because we need to pay income tax on all payments made, and also need to cover expenses and time for helping you.
There are no hidden fees for electricity, gas, water, internet, cleaning, condominium fees, or IPTU. If you encounter any issues with your accommodation, our team will work to resolve the situation.
