Purpose: Volunteer in Rio de Janeiro to teach underprivileged children from the community of Cantagalo and Pavão-Pavãozinho participating in our program. We teach utilizing the principles of Positive Discipline in a loving and caring way. Our goal is to help these children develop self-control and problem-solving skills as well as their academic capabilities.
Job Description: The Social Activity Coordinator will be responsible for developing and executing Mais Caminhos social activities. This dynamic position focuses on community engagement, promoting short-term volunteerism, and student/volunteer activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop opportunities and activities to contribute to the community
Build a valuable network in the community
Organise activities that enable short-term volunteering work
Proactively identify opportunities to promote short-term volunteer work in the communities of Zona Sul through engagement with communities, networks, groups etc.
Organise and coordinate volunteer and students outreach activities and attendance at community events
Coordinate the supervision of volunteers providing skills-development, motivation, and performance feedback
Reports to: Mais Caminhos Manager.
Length of Appointment: The position of the Social Activities Coordinator is assigned for a period of four to six months with 3-4 working days a week. After four months, the Complementary Education Programme Assistant may be reappointed for another four to six months at the discretion of the Coordinator.
Time Commitment: 3 to 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday) for 6 hours (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), for a minimum of four months.
