Events in Rio de Janeiro and at the Language School

Caminhos Language Centre, a portuguese school for foreigners in Rio, organized a Brazilian Speed Dating event to bring Brazilians and foreigners together for fun and exciting night. More than 100 people were there and Caminhos brought a lot of new couples together in love.

During the month of December, Caminhos Language Centre organized two celebrations at the school to celebrate Christmas. The first one occured on a Saturday, and students and staff could get together to eat, talk and have fun in a traditional Christmas spirit environment. Then, on December 23rd we had a cultural activity at the school where teachers showed the students how Brazilians celebrate Christmas in Brazil.

Festa Junina means Festival of June, it is a celebration during the winter, marked by plaid shirts, boots, braids and freckles. A traditional party is also accompanied by lots of music and dance.

During the months of June/July, it’s a tradition in Brazil to have parties to celebrate the country life, known as Festa Junina. These celebrations mix many good brazilian things such as food, music, dance, costumes and games. Teachers and students of Caminhos joined in a big group to celebrate Festa Junina with typical clothes and lots of fun.
