Bala Juquinha

This one is a huge success in Brazil since the ’50s. Bala Juquinha is probably the most famous brand of soft fruity chew in Brazil. Its distinguishable logo of a blond boy is famous all over the country. Furthermore, these candies are available in different flavors, such as strawberry yogurt, tutti-frutti, raspberry, green apple, grape, and strawberry. The most popular one is the tutti-frutti flavor that comes in a yellow wrapping plastic.

Baton

Garoto is a popular brand of chocolates from Brazil. Some of its products are real classics among all generations, part of Brazilian families of different eras. One of their chocolate candies is Baton. It is a milk chocolate bar shaped like lipstick. Baton was created in 1948 and quickly became a popular candy among kids.

Bis

Bis is a chocolate-covered wafer bar owned by Lacta, a popular Brazilian brand for chocolate snacks and candies. The product was launched in 1942 and is a favorite among Brazilians as of today. In Portuguese, ‘bis’ is a word we use when we want more of something — for example, another song in a concert or… another wafer bar. Manufactures agreed you could never eat just one piece of this chocolate, hence the name Bis. Brazilians agree with that!

Biscoito de Polvilho

Biscoito de polvilho is a popular snack all around Brazil. Its main ingredients are cassava starch, oil, water, salt or sugar. You can find different brands in supermarkets. However, in Rio de Janeiro, Biscoito Globo is almost 70 years old and became an iconic product of the city. Some foreigners think ‘biscoito de polvilho’ has no flavor at all, but Brazilians love it.

Chokito

This is one of the most popular candy bars in Brazil. Chokito has a very popular slogan: leite condensado caramelizado com flocos crocantes, coberto por um delicioso chocolate Nestlé. Meaning: caramelized condensed milk with crunchy balls covered in delicious Nestlé chocolate.

Diamante Negro

Invented during the 1938 FIFA World Cup, Diamante Negro is a popular chocolate bar in Brazil. It is a milk chocolate bar with crunchy pieces of honey and cashew nut.

Fandangos

Fandangos is a popular brand of corn chips in Brazil. It is available in ham or cheese flavor.

Maria Mole

This is a Brazilian candy similar to marshmallows.

Negresco

Think of a Brazilian version of Oreo. This creme-filled sandwich cookie from 1987 is very popular among kids and also adults in Brazil. Actually, there are a lot of different brands of sandwich cookies in the country. Some include Bono, Passatempo, Piraquê, and Trakinas. They have different flavors, such as strawberry, lime, dulce de leche, chocolate, and vanilla.

Nescau

This chocolate-flavored milk was invented in 1932 by Nestlé in Brazil. There are ready-to-drink cartons and powdered drink mix. It is a popular choice of beverage for breakfast among children.

Paçoca

Paçoca is made out of ground peanuts, sugar, and salt. You can find paçoca in stores all year long, but this candy is very famous during the traditional Festa Junina celebrations, in June and July.

Passatempo

Passatempo is a popular milk biscuit in Brazil. A chocolate-filled sandwich cookie version is also available. Kids tend to bring it to school as a snack.

Pé de Moleque

A popular hard candy made of peanuts and brown sugar.

Pingo de Leite

Pingo de Leite is a traditional candy from Brazil. It consists of hard dulce de leche sticks filled with soft caramel.

Pipoca de Canjica

These sweet popcorn made of special white corn kernels called ‘canjica’ are popular all around Brazil since 1987. Even though there are different brands of white popcorn in Brazil, most of them sell their products in a very characteristic pink packaging.
